Project: Green Mountain, Lakewood, Colorado, full kitchen and bathroom remodel of a 1984 split level with a mix of vaulted and flat ceiling, including removing walls, ceiling, adding a wall and full finishing touches. Eric and Julie of Constructive builders were fantastic to work with through the entire project and the project came in on budget, on time, and all change requests were handled without issue. Constructive Builders helped us through the initial planning phase, drawing several plans showing us alternative layouts that we could make work in the space. We were prepared to move windows, or completely move the kitchen to find the best use of the space after walls and ceiling were removed. The project involved removing a closed in kitchen, losing upper cabinets and losing an easy space for a fridge freezer to go, so getting the design and layout right was critical. We didn't want a sink or oven in the Island, but we needed practicality. Eric and Julie presented several plans and gave us a winner that was both the best choice and the most cost effective choice. They thought of everything and they were very tactful in questioning our rookie ideas and steering us down the better pathways for both design, practicality and durability. We lived through the construction and they were very cognizant of that, sealing off for dust/ damage, preparing us with great communication for when activity was going to be high - like when the demo was taking place, dry wall, electricians, plumbers, painters, cabinetry, etc were coming to the house, who it was, how long they would be and keeping us updated of any surprises along the way. All of their subcontractors were great and Kamtz cabinets gets a special mention for their product and I can see why Constructive Builders recommend them. Eric and Julie were happy to show us a nearby renovation that they had just completed and that also gave us great confidence that their work and standards were high. During the project, we enjoyed working with constructive builders and had confidence in their work and timelines and so we asked them to hep us with more - change a window, add a sliding door, completely gut renovate a bathroom and update some flooring in other areas of the house, paint all of the inside window frames and some doors, install a ring camera, add some additional electrical outlets etc. Eric was able to discuss with me at the property what we wanted and then we had a change order describing the job and the pricing sent over to us, so there were no mis-communications on what these changes would cost and what was involved. That change order was great as we could see that Eric was listening (never doubted you Eric!) and we didn't have to worry if anything had been missed/ forgotten. We highly recommend constructive builders, Eric and Julie make a great team and I am ready to recommend them to anyone that mentions they have a project coming up.Read More
